...People gathering in rooms dedicated to special needs and nutrition; spacious classrooms; a clean and bright dental clinic; a welcoming birthing centre; volunteer and staff accommodation. Importantly, a secure shelter for women in crisis and their children.

Together, village woman and Atzin envision a multi-use centre and shelter, to be named Yotlakat Non Siwatl, meaning “a woman reborn” in Nahuatl. The construction of this ecological building will provide much needed space for programs and a safe haven for women. It will function as a training facility and provide local employment for women and men of Tlamacazapa.

Right now, Atzin rents a small three-room house that overflows with people and materials – the noise can be deafening!
